Much of the time for managers are consumed in realizing and reacting to problems. It is very difficult to stand and give a hard look to the problem. At this pint of time, the skill to see broader perspective is very important. Strategic planning process helps in some of the following ways.

The real benefit of it is the process itself and not the plan document. There is no perfect planning. So, learn from the process and enhance what to do in the next round.
