HDFC Bank has come out with a travel card with which you can prepay a certain amount to the card and use it in a foreign country. The best part about thesse cards is that you can fill in foreign currency from your home land so you can lock in the foreign exchange rate you are going to pay.

Now for example you want to fill up 1000 usd, you can do that with todays exchange rate .. so when you use it even after a month you wont be losing out on exchange rate fluctuations since you will have 1000 usd in your account.

Another good thing with these is you cannot use these online, so they wont work even on sites which accept credit cards online. These travel cards are very useful while traveling and act as a good addition to travellers cheques.
